Very Old Antique Katana sword in Ornate Mounting
Nambokucho/Muromachi era1380's
NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon certificated (Extremely Well Preserved certificate)
Swordsmith:Uda TOMOTSUGU
A quality Katana sword from SAMURAI STORE Tokyo. Antique Katana long blade made by the swordsmith Uda TOMOTSUGU in Eitoku period, Muromachi/Nambokucho era 1380's. Stunningly beautiful narrow-straight hamon tempered line pattern on blade. Bo-Hi grooves on the blade. This blade was certified to TOKUBETSU Hozon paper "Extremely Well-Preserved Sword" by NBTHK (Japan Sword Preservation Society), the higher ranked certificate than standard. No inscription on the blade but the NBTHK is officially ascribing the blade to TOMOTSUGU's work. The autority card by gov. says this blade is Katana but NBTHK certificate states this blade as Tachi because of the design and specification of the blade. Comes in a complete antique ornate including beautiful Tsuba hand guard, hilt ornaments, and all decorative metal parts. Shirasaya wooden holder comes with.
